Who we are and what we do?

The Social Justice Foundation (SJF), founded in 2007, is a grant awardee under the IDB MPD Global Services Promotion Programme (GSPP) to launch the basic Digital Media Skills training initiative. Outcomes of the project are to provide:

Social Justice

Contribute to poverty reduction and social justice through equal opportunities to employment (i.e. media internships, jobs, certified trainers in digital media)

Entrepreneurship

Create self-employment and entrepreneurship opportunities using online digital media

Skill Development

Develop a cadre of trained digital media personnel that are skilled to support the continued development and export thrust of local and regional Creative Industries in film, animation etc.

The Social Justice Foundation (SJF) is an organization of youth training youth in sustainable ICT skills in T&T. In July 2018, SJF will launch a new basic digital media skills training initiative and is therefore conducting a survey of young persons, from 16 to 35 years, to determine their online activities as well as their perceptions on Internet Piracy, Online Safety, Online Privacy and Cyber Bullying to inform and better develop a basic digital media skills training project.

Maureen Arneaud was the founder of the Social Justice Foundation and related training programs TGN Media and Good Media - aspired and inspired to give young people exposure to the sustainable ICT tools for telling compelling stories about what is happening in the environments around them.

“Our program seeks to do more than give a job skill. We want to help these young men and women become exemplars in their community. They come from diverse backgrounds with myriad challenges. We show them that this should not limit what they can become ..."
